JCPenney Partners with Local Universities to Prepare Students for Virtual Job Interviews During Suit Up Events

For the third consecutive year, JCPenney is partnering with career services centers at colleges and universities nationwide to host Suit Up events, designed to help students dress for success and jumpstart their careers – whether they will be going to an office or joining virtual meetings.

During the events – happening now through Oct. 29 – participating students with a valid school ID will receive an additional 30% discount on stylish merchandise already offered at an incredible value. With the significant discount – available on top of other existing offers – men can easily purchase a JF J. Ferrar suit jacket and pants, shirt, tie, belt, and shoes for approximately $200, and women can buy a complete Worthington outfit, including suit jacket, skirt, shirt, and shoes for around $100.

Staff and alumni from the schools also attend the events alongside JCPenney associates, who will offer students advice on what to wear for job interviews, share insights on the latest career fashion trends, provide tips on how a suit should fit, what size to buy, and how to tie a tie. To complete the in-store experience, stores with a Sephora inside JCPenney will offer free product samples while supplies last, and locations with a JCPenney Portrait Studio will offer professional headshot packages starting as low as $30.

The Company remains focused on protecting the health and safety of its customers and associates through numerous precautions, such as requiring face coverings, offering Contactless checkout through its mobile app which provides emailed receipts, and diligently cleaning stores with a focus on high-touch areas.

JCPenney connects Company, community, and cause by investing its time and resources in three primary impact areas of professional clothing needs, youth programming, and career readiness support, which is especially important as college students prepare to interview for internships or to enter the workforce full-time.
