Teen entrepreneurs and YouTube stars Brooklyn & Bailey host meet ups with fans inside JCPenney

Brooklyn and Bailey

Over 3,500 Brooklyn and Bailey McKnight fans flocked to select JCPenney stores in late July to meet the identical twin sisters and YouTube stars, who also serve as brand ambassadors for the retailer’s Arizona brand. The popular teen entrepreneurs hosted four meet-and-greet events for fans inside JCPenney stores in Austin, Texas; Orlando, Fla.; Charlotte, N.C. and Jersey City, NJ.

At each event, Brooklyn and Bailey talked to fans, posed for photos, gave away their limited-edition Arizona backpacks, and surprised YMCA branches in each market with a donation on behalf of JCPenney. The events were an overwhelming success and were the largest appearances that Brooklyn and Bailey have ever hosted to date.

Encouraging teens to give back and be #AZYouAre

To encourage self-expression and help teens to showcase their individual style, JCPenney launched the #AZYouAre social campaign this back-to-school season. A key component of this program, JCPenney created a compelling social content series showcasing the real-life stories of teens who have benefitted from their involvement in the Y, and how the Y created an environment that allowed them to express and celebrate their individuality.

Each of the four teens featured in the video series attended the meet-and-greet events, where Brooklyn and Bailey surprised them with a $500 JCPenney gift card and a $25,000 donation to their local Y branch. This donation will help to provide teens in each market with access to Y programming and resources to ensure they have a safe place to go where they can be themselves and prepare for college and future success.

Check out the stories from Bryssa, Jasmine, Sam and Michelle on the Arizona Jean Co. YouTube channel about the impact that the Y has had on their lives.

Customers can continue to support the Y by using #AZYouGive. For every Instagram post that uses the hashtag now through Aug. 31, JCPenney will donate $1 to the Y, up to $100,000.

Brooklyn and Bailey have your back (pack)

The events also provided an opportunity for Brooklyn and Bailey to give fans a sneak peak of their custom-designed Arizona backpacks reflecting their own individual style. The girls each designed their own backpack filled with curated product including a custom-designed Arizona t-shirt, dry shampoo pen from JCPenney salon, mini samples from Sephora inside JCPenney and a piece of Arizona fashion jewelry. The backpacks launched at JCPenney.com on July 30 for $25 each and are almost completely sold out.
