Since Hurricane Irma has impacted the communities we serve, the Golden Rule Relief Fund – a program that provides aid to associates experiencing financial hardship caused by unforeseen situations such as natural disasters – will be available to assist with associates in need. The J. C. Penney Company Fund has also made a $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross to aid in relief efforts.
Furthermore, the Company is proactively allocating additional units of basic merchandise to stores in Florida and the southeast – such as socks, underwear, blankets, sheets, towels and footwear – to serve shoppers who may potentially be impacted by Irma.
